What is hydraulic system?

A hydraulic system is a type of power transmission system that uses pressurized fluid to generate, control, and transmit power. It operates on the principle of Pascal's law, which states that when pressure is applied to a fluid in an enclosed space, the pressure is transmitted equally in all directions. 

In a hydraulic system, a hydraulic fluid, usually oil, is contained within a closed circuit. The system includes components such as hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and reservoirs. The hydraulic pump pressurizes the fluid, which is then distributed through hoses to various components. 

Hydraulic cylinders convert the hydraulic pressure into linear or rotary motion, enabling the system to perform tasks like lifting, pushing, or rotating objects. 

Valves control the flow and direction of the fluid to achieve precise control over the system.

Hydraulic systems are widely used in various applications, including heavy machinery, industrial equipment, aircraft, automobiles, and even simple tools like hydraulic jacks. They provide advantages such as high power density, precise control, compact design, and the ability to transmit power over long distances.
